“Ponies Inspiring People" - Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust

This half-term a small group of pupils from Year 7 to 10 have been taking part in a project learning how to care and train Dartmoor ponies. Every Monday for 2 hours they have been taught how to turn the animals, lead, catch and groom them. The project has been set up by the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust and its overarching aim is to work with pupils promoting self-esteem and improving self-confidence.

This project will continue into the new academic year with a different group of pupils so that as many as possible can benefit from the experience.
