Subjects - Science
What is science all about?
GCSE science pupils follow the OCR Gateway double award and will take a GCSE in biology, chemistry and physics. Part of the assessment involves completing various practical tasks taken throughout the year and also a written piece of coursework entitled ‘Science in the News’.
Pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 follow a scheme that uses the Science Plus materials to prepare pupils for a GCSE course.

How can my parents / carers help?
The coursework involves looking at an area of science that is in the news at the moment. It would help if you could keep any newspaper articles and discuss topical science issues at home.
